When was Symbollon founded? Incorporated?
We were founded in 1986 and incorporated in Delaware in 1993.

How does Symbollon generate revenues?
We commercialized our first product, IodoZyme, in 1995. We manufacture IodoZyme and sell it to our exclusive marketing partner, West Agro, Inc. of Kansas City, MO. For products under development with corporate partners, we might have two sources of revenue—milestone payments and royalties. When we engage a partner to take our pharmaceuticals to market, we will receive an upfront payment. We can receive additional payments when we meet certain milestones during the development of the product. The amount and timing of these payments depends on when, in the development cycle, we engage the partner. Once our partner begins to sell the drug, we will receive royalties, which will be an agreed-upon percentage of sales of that product. Symbollon’s past agreements with Bausch & Lomb Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Oclassen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. are two good examples of these types of relationships.

Can your products be sold outside the United States?
Yes. IodoZyme and our other products under development can be sold throughout the world so long as the appropriate governmental authorizations are received. Presently, IodoZyme is being marketed in the United Kingdom. For any product, the specific countries where it will be sold will be determined in conjunction with our future marketing partners.
