Symbollon is enrolling patients in a national multi-center, placebo-controlled, double-blinded, randomized Phase III clinical trial for the treatment of moderate or severe breast pain associated with fibrocystic breast disease. The trial drug, IoGen, may help relieve breast pain. The study has been registered with FDA under the Protocol Registration System at ClinicalTrials.gov.

What can I expect?

Each participant will receive either a trial drug or placebo pill (which contains no active medication) for 6 months. Participation in the study will require 2 initial screen visits, and if you qualify, you will be asked to attend 6 study visits and complete a short daily pain diary while you are on the study. You will be compensated for your participation in this study.

How do I qualify for the Study?

You may qualify if:

• You are a woman 18 to 50 years of age
• You experience periodic moderate or severe breast pain
• You have lumpy breasts (at least one palpable structure, e.g. nodule or cyst)
• You have normal, regular menstrual cycle
• You have normal thyroid function with no previous history of thyroid disease
• You are not pregnant or nursing, and will be willing to use an acceptable form of birth control for the duration of the study
